FAQ

How much does it cost?

Please contact me directly for information about fees.

Will my insurance plan cover the cost?

Most private insurance plans cover at least a portion of the cost of psychotherapy. Please check with your insurance provider about your coverage. Please note that you will be required to pay at the end of each session, and a receipt will be provided to you for insurance purposes.

The provincial health insurance (Medicare) in Quebec does not cover psychological services.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, cheque, or e-transfer.

How long are sessions?

Sessions last 50 minutes.

How often do I have to come to therapy?

Therapy is most effective when done on a weekly basis. This is not always possible, however, and sessions every two weeks can be helpful for many people. It is important to discuss your needs and constraints (time, finances) with your therapist.

How long will I need therapy?

This varies greatly from one person to the next and depends on many different factors. The amount of time you have had the problem, how severe it is, what kind of support network you have, how complex the problem is, and what you want to achieve in therapy can all impact the length of time you stay in therapy.

What if I don’t like my therapist?

Keep looking! If you do not feel comfortable with a therapist, find one that is a better fit for you and your needs. Every good therapist knows that a good fit is essential for effective treatment.
